The English Programs for Teens are exam preparation programs for KET, PET, etc.

What is KET?
KET stands for KEY ENGLISH TEST.
This is the first certificate in the Cambridge ESOL certificate system, intended for students from secondary school and above or to complete an application for a sponsored immigrant visa to the UK.
– KET is equivalent to the elementary level A2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
– There are 3 sections according to 4 skills in the KET test: Reading and Writing, Listening, Speaking.
At this level, you can understand simple instructions and information or engage in short conversations on predictable topics, fill out simple forms, and write notes.
Who is the KET exam for?
Secondary school students and above or to complete an application for a sponsored immigrant visa to the UK.
Those who want to practice Reading – Understand simple readings, instructions, short notices, etc.
Why should you take the KET test?
– KET uses language in daily real life, the exam comprehensively tests 4 skills in English: Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing in English. The exam assesses practical skills, develops skills use English in travel, study or work.
Although at a basic level, the KET exam helps you see your strengths and weaknesses. From there come a plan for learning. Or you can take the Cambridge exams at the next level (PET, FCE…).
– If successful, you will receive a certificate from the Cambridge University Examinations Board. Also when taking this exam. You will also receive a result message showing your performance on the 3 tests.
What does the exam include?
KET has 3 exams:
The listening test assesses the ability to listen to information such as announcements and conversations at a moderate level and understand information on tapes.
The speaking test measures your ability to communicate in English with the examiner and other test takers.
You need to ask & answer questions about yourself, tell about your hobbies. Usually the speaking test is held in pairs.
Skills Timing Exam Content
1st test Reading and Writing 1 hour 10 minutes
The Reading & Writing test measures the ability to read and understand signs, advertisements, and magazines. In order to understand those key messages, you need to understand common sentence structures and words.
You will be assessed through basic tests such as completing blanks or converting sentence forms, daily writing exercises, specifically writing a letter of about 20-25 words.
Through these exercises you can use sentence structures, vocabulary, check your own mistakes, punctuation marks.
Second test Listen for about 30 minutes
Third test Speaking 8-10 minutes
All exams will be graded and assessed in Cambridge, UK, with the exception of the speaking test, which will be assessed and scored in person by a local examiner. All candidates who participate if successful will receive a certificate of Cambridge ESOL.
Result:
– Reading and Writing skills account for 50%, Listening and Speaking skills each account for 25% of the score.
– There are 2 pass levels (‘Pass’ and ‘Excellent Pass’), candidates who achieve either level will receive a Cambridge ESOL KET certificate. Candidates whose results are ‘Near enough pass’ or ‘Fail’ will not receive a certificate.
– The test will be sent to Cambridge ESOL for grading and the results will be sent back to the test center after grading. If you have any questions about your test results, you should contact the center where you registered for the test.
Cambridge ESOL KET certificates are valid forever.
